4 Ways to Feel the Cozy & Calm Energy During the Transition into Fall

Welcome back to the blog! I hope you've been enjoying the start of September, even though September can be a busy month! With back-to-school, college, or just seasonal transitions, I feel like life can feel a little more stressful and hectic during this time of the year. If you've been feeling a little tired and worked-up lately, I wanted to share a few ways to lean into the cozy and calm energy that fall brings to help you feel more grounded and at peace daily. Sometimes, stress can take us out of the present moment, and we focus so much on the future that we forget to make time for ourselves in the now. And believe me, I've been so busy lately, and this has been me too. So, I'm sharing 3 self-care practices that have been helping me better align myself with the calmness I'd like to feel this season, to feel my best mentally and physically.

1. Put on that one comfort/movie show that you've watched a bunch of times

There's nothing like re-watching a movie or show that provides comfort and reassurance. Sometimes, we just need to escape from life's stressors for a bit, and there's nothing like following all the stories and lives of characters in movies or shows! One of my absolute favorite go-to comfort movies is The Devil Wears Prada. It's such a good rom-com, it's light, and ultimately brings me that comfort and feel-good energy I need sometimes. So, the next time you find yourself feeling some stress and you want to feel more grounded, put on that show or movie that just makes you feel like everything is going to be okay.

2. Get back into reading and finding books that help you relax

Another one of my favorite ways to feel calm and grounded during the season is to sit down with a good book to read that brings me that feel-good energy. I feel like reading can be a really great escape and really just allows me to feel more peace and grounded. I lean towards romance novels because I feel like they're light, chill, and just remind me to not take things so seriosuly. So, whenever you need some moments of relaxation and just need to de-stress, pick up that book that's been sitting on your nightstand and just read for a little bit. 3. Romanticize the little moments of life more

A lot of the time when we feel our stress is more amplified, we can feel a bad mood or just dreading the day ahead when we have stressful thing looming over us. But, when this is the case for me, I really find solitude in just romantisizing the little moments of life more that bring me joy. Whether it's waking up and putting on an outfit that makes me feel confident or brings a smile to my face, or making my fave delish breakfast which is a yogurt bowl, or my walk to get a coffee while listening to music, or just finding time to work on a passion project. Really re-training our brain to look forward to the little things that spark joy in our lives can really help bring stress down and fill our brains with better and more positive thoughts.

4. Find a new passion project or creative outlet for yourself

Something that has always helped me feel less stressed is engaging in a passion project that brings out my creativity. For me, that really is a lot of blogging and creating social media content as a way to express my creativity. I feel like when I'm working on my passion project, I don't feel a lot of pressure, and it's a really great creative outlet for me. I encourage you to find a new passion project that helps you de-stress. This could be as simple as scrolling on pinterest and curating a selection of photos for what you envision your fall to look like, or writing in a jounral if you're a writer, or painting or knitting, or maybe even starting a social media page centered around an interest! I really feel like passion projects are so great for bringing about our creative energy and this really does help in bringing down feelings of stress!

I hope that you try one of these self-care practices to help with feeling a little calmer and less stressed as the fall begins! Remember to take good care of you, and to find little moments for yourself this week!

Xx,

Esha
