A Little Bit of My Story and Why I Founded My Blog

Welcome back to the blog and happy holidays! For those who are new to my community, welcome! For today's post, I'm sharing a little bit about my story and why I decided to found Self-Care by Esha.

So it all started last year during September of 2020. That's when my struggle with anxiety began. And it was quite the ride for me. The beginning of the pandemic had been so stressful and I'm sure that many can relate. Anxiety caused me to endure physical pains and just an overload of stress. Anxiety is something that caused me to zoom in on just the negatives, and that's not where I wanted to be. I didn't want to wake up every day to just have more anxious feelings.

I made the decision to stand up to this mental illness. I wanted to feel better. I wanted to be positive. I wanted to see the good. And that's where it all began. What I'm so happy to call Self-Care by Esha. What really helped me throughout my anxiety was writing. It was journaling my thoughts and emotions and really just expressing myself. And secondly, it was taking care of myself on a daily. And self-care really became important to me throughout my mental health journey. I realized that I needed to prioritize taking care of myself, and definitely my mind before anything else. My mental health and state of wellbeing needed to be my top priority. And the only way to do that was through taking care of myself. And really, it was the small things. Like making it a necessity to rest when my mind and body needed it. Or just doing some writing, or mediation, or lighting a candle and playing soothing jazz while working. Ultimately, doing more of what made my mind come to a greater sense of ease. That's when I combined my passion for writing and self-care and launched my blog!

I'm just so happy to be able to bring out the positives from a challenging experience and give back with my passion for self-care. I post weekly blog posts about all things self-care and tips for mental health, to just cultivate a healthy and happy mind!

And that was a bit of my story and what got this all started. Read on and enjoy!

I hope that you have a calming rest of the week :)
