Hi! Welcome back to the blog! Winter is a beautiful season, but with it comes less sunlight and definitely staying in more often because of the cold. And that means that you could be feeling more down, and perhaps a little bit of seasonal depression. For this week's post, I'm sharing a few self-care ideas to help you feel in a better mood this season.
1) Practice your hobbies/find a passion project
In order to just boost your mood and happiness, I suggest taking on a hobby or finding a passion project. Continuing something that you are super passionate about will automatically increase your happiness on a daily. I love to write, so writing these blog posts or creating social media content for you all is something that automatically brings joy to my life.
2) Get yourself ready each day, even if you're not feeling super motivated
Getting ready for the day already makes me feel so good. I'm a huge believer that when you look good, you feel good. When I put on an outfit that makes me feel confident (which is not sweats), and do my hair, then my mood is automatically better, and I just feel more motivated to do more every day. You have to do what works for you. Honestly, if it's putting on a cute outfit or lounging in sweats, then that's great! You do you for your mental health!
3) Listen to your favorite upbeat song and dance to it
This is definitely a personal favorite to help boost my food when I'm feeling down. I love to just put in some headphones, and let the music's energy fill me with energy. What would I do without music!? Music is such a powerful tool to spark happiness and to actually bring down stress. So, find a song that you absolutely love, and just move to it :)
4) Prioritize caring for yourself
You probably expected me to say this, but taking care of yourself is truly one of the best ways to boost your mood. Create that routine that is just a necessity for you. When we fill ourselves up with the care and love that we need, we are receiving all this beautiful and high-vibe energy. Because self-care is high vibrational. Even doing the small things for yourself that make you feel better. Perhaps, doing your skincare, drinking water, going for a walk, lighting a candle, listening to music, etc. Even saying no to things and creating time for just you. So, make it a priority to care for yourself. And believe me, it will holistically make you feel so much better.
Remember that it's okay to feel down, and not happy all the time. And in fact, it's normal. But for me, it's fitness, practicing my hobbies, getting myself ready, jamming to my favorite songs, and definitely self-care that helps me the most with boosting my mood! But, it's important every single day to make yourself a priority. Work on you, your happiness, and the way you feel.
Sending positive vibes! ☻
