Embracing the Lows: Understanding the Importance of Having Low Days

Hi all! Welcome back to the blog! It's been a little while since I've been on the blog, so I hope that you've been well and that you're taking care of yourself. Today, I wanted to share my thoughts about what it means to have low days, and why those are okay.

Being someone who shares a lot of positivity with my audience and encourages all of you to practice positivity, I think it's important to know that we all still have low days, regardless of how positive we are daily. A huge part of self-care is recognizing that we all have different emotions and that emotions vary, but being able to take care of ourselves and treat ourselves with love and kindness regardless is what's truly important.

Sometimes we wake up feeling down, tired, or stressed; those are all 100% normal emotions to experience. But know that these emotions will only lead to better feelings in the future. Life is a bunch of ebbs and flows. I like to think of it like ocean waves. Sometimes we feel super happy and other times we might just be feeling a little down. And that's something that every single person experiences, whether we see it or not. When I feel a little down, I like to remind myself that everything happens for a reason. My feeling down is a signal from the universe that happier feelings will come.

One of the most important things you can do for yourself when feeling down is to be kind and loving to yourself. When I'm feeling low vibrational energy, I generally tend to feel less motivated. And that's completely okay! I think it's so important to process and understand all of our emotions and to even lean into them. Because that's what listening to ourselves is. It's allowing all emotions to be just how they are. But, when I'm feeling a little down, I also like to practice self-care that makes me feel better. Sometimes, I'll watch my favorite show, take a warm shower, listen to music that suits my mood, get outside, or just do a face mask. Investing time in doing things that make me feel better has a significant impact on my mood and how I feel. And that's really the power of self-care. It has the ability to uplift our mood and make us feel happier!

So, know that it's completely okay to have low days. I personally feel that social media sometimes can make us feel like it's not normal to be feeling down, but know that everyone has days where they don't feel happy all the time. It's a huge part of life, and it's so important to recognize that the lower feelings are as important as the higher feelings. Because honestly, without these lower feelings and days, we can't fully experience happiness and the good. We can't prevent low days from happening, because they're a part of life! But what we can do is be gentle with ourselves when we do have low days, and let the emotions be. And we're going to especially make self-care a priority on those days to help ourselves feel better through small acts of filling up our cups :)

Remember to be intuitive with yourself and to listen to yourself. Only do what feels good for your mind and soul!

Esha

Like the ebbs and flows of the ocean waves, our lives will have naturally have existing highs and lows. Once we learn to go with the flow like the tides, and rest and exist with the lows, we will feel ultimate inner peace. - Esha
