How Journaling Helped Me With Anxiety

Journaling was found to be extremely therapeutic for me not too long ago when I suffered from anxiety. When I made the decision to help myself, I learned a lot about the benefits of journaling for those struggling with mental health.

On days that my anxiety was really extreme, I would designate time to let out all of my thoughts onto the page with absolutely no guilt. Those nights, I would make it a self-care practice to help myself and my mental health. And with journaling came lighting a candle and setting the intentions, and surrounding myself with the positive energy of crystals to really embrace this time to help me and my mind. And can I say, it helped me so incredibly much. Journaling was really like therapy for me. But instead of talking to a physical person, I was writing all those thoughts out instead.

When you hold onto negative and intrusive thoughts in your mind, your mood and your overall wellbeing is affected. It's so important to let those thoughts out and get everything out that is not serving you. And throughout my mental health journey, I did just that. And on some days, I would let out a tear or two on the page which is totally ok. I was letting out all of my feelings and emotions that came with my anxiety, and after, I felt at ease.

I inspire you to take on this practice whenever you're feeling any of the feelings. It doesn't just have to be for anxiety or stress. And over time, you're keeping a track of past experiences and memories that may have shaped you, and from personal experience, made an impact on where you are today.

Take care of yourself,

Esha
