Welcome back to the blog! My life has been super busy lately, but I'm glad to be back this week. That leads me to say that it's really important to not overwhelm yourself with too much. Always be graceful with yourself and what you're able to handle and take on. Just some words of wisdom from me :)
But, anyway, I wanted to share my updated skincare routine featuring the one, and the only, drumroll please...clean beauty! As you may know, I have the most sensitive skin and react to so many products. I used to have pretty bad acne and that's what led me to my interest in beauty products and their ingredients. I found out that there are some bad ingredients in beauty products that shouldn't actually be going on to your skin. And I also learned about what ingredients are truly beneficial for the skin. #skincareguru goals right here :-)
I'm so happy that I found the beauty company, Honest Beauty. I mean their products have been a real game-changer for my skin sensitivities. What I love about their skincare is that everything is literally clean. There's nothing that you don't want on your skin. It's only the good stuff. And they have products for all skin types. Dry, oily, sensitive like me, acne-prone, you name it. I'd say that their products are all really great for sensitive skin, but they even have a line designed just for sensitive skin. So cool, right? I'm sure by now you can tell that I'm super into clean beauty. And there are so many reasons why. But to keep it simple, it's just better to put cleaner ingredients on your face and to be conscious of what goes on it.
My first fave from Honest is their Calm on Foaming Cream Cleanser (click this link to shop btw). What's great about this cleaner is that it's so gentle. It's not super foamy but it's a cream-based cleaner so it doesn't dry my skin out or make it feel stripped of its oils. When it comes to a cleanser, it's important to find one that doesn't make you feel very dry but rather keeps your skin still feeling soft and partially hydrated. This cleanser is extremely soothing, and calming, hence the name ;) For the people with super sensitive skin out there, just like me, this one is for you!
Next in my skincare lineup is the Hydrogel Cream also from Honest Beauty. What's really cool about it is that when you apply it, it breaks down into this water so it's incredibly hydrating. This cream is made with excellent ingredients such as hyaluronic acid which is deeply hydrating and squalene which helps reduce swelling of the skin. If you're somebody who has oily-prone skin and you don't want a cream that's going to make you oily throughout the day, then this product is a perfect solution! It's lightweight and refreshing, but also gives you that dewy feeling with the oil. You know in the mornings when you quench your thirst will a glass of water, well this cream gives a similar feeling to your face! It's a great way to wake up your skin in the morning!
After, I move on to my lip balm. Apart from Honest Beauty, two other brands that I really love for my lip care are Tatcha and Glossier. Although I'd say that Tatcha is a little pricey, they have such a nice lip mask which is the Kissu Lip Mask, and can I say that it truly works. I know that it can be hard to find a lip product that really does hydrate your lips so you don't have to keep re-applying. I've tried so many lip balms and chapsticks that just don't work. But this lip mask replenishes the hydration in my lips every time I sleep. I only use this product at night, so it’s kind of like an overnight repair for me. For the daytime, I love the famous Balm Dotcom by Glossier! This balm is not like any ordinary chapstick that does absolutely nothing for your lips. It breaks down into a nice oil-based and non-sticky consistency that seeps into the skin to hydrate. And that's exactly what you need!
So, as you can tell, my skincare routine is only 4 products. Yes, you heard that right. When it comes to my skincare, less is definitely more for me. But, we all have different skin types. You may need more products to best take care of your skin. But, these are just some of my recommendations if you're looking for a certain kind of product. Every skincare routine will be different and look different to compensate for what our skin needs to feel its best. To me, skincare is truly self-care. I always look forward to my daily and nightly routine because it just brings about the calm and peaceful vibes. Yes to that!
Thank you so much for reading and remember to take care of yourself. If you just need that night to do a luxurious skin-care routine, then do just that! Life is better when it's filled with more self-care :)
Remember to stay positive!
Xo,
Esha
