Putting in that effort to get organized is so worth it. I know that some may say they don't have the energy to be organized, or it's just too much work, or they just can't do it. But hear me out. Getting organized is a game-changer and is a great way to reduce long-term stress, and even stress and mild anxiety that you may have in the current moment.
Organizing just makes me feel better. I feel like everything is under control, I'm at a greater sense of ease, and my mind is more relaxed. Even when I'm feeling the stress hit me while studying or doing work, I'll take a break and just re-arrange some things. It's so interesting because organizing even the smallest things really reduces my stress. When everything is cluttered, my brain can start to feel overwhelmed.
Organization is not just organizing your house or your room. It's also planning out your day and setting goals for the day and what needs to get done. That's why I absolutely love having a planner to write down all of my school work and everything that I need to do. With a planner, or an agenda, I can check things off, and wow, doesn't that make me feel good!
I encourage you to take organization one step at a time. You don't need to get everything organized right now. First, I recommend getting a planner and writing down all of your goals and what work you need to do. Throughout the day, one by one, get those things done and check them off this list! You'll feel so good! Then, I'd move on to organizing and cleaning up your house and de-cluttering it.
If I wasn't organized, my brain would be all over the place! It helps so much in all forms, including physical organization and organization in the form of planning. And it's one step closer to reducing that anxiety and making the day smoother, and more relaxed.
Take care of yourself,
Esha
